To A Dream
I can see if there’s no dream for me.
I can’t hide behind the rolling tide
of illusion,
to get away from all of this confusion.
In my prayer, I know it’s always there.
I can’t sleep, my mind could never keep
from dreaming.
The best time to be happy is when you’re dreaming.
And I can’t know exactly how to feel
if the feeling isn’t real.
And I can’t know exactly where to be
if it isn’t there for me,
but I’ve got to find some peace of mind.
Let it rain the smoke and fire again.
I won’t hear ‘cause I’ll be nowhere near
the anger.
I’ll be flying from my own special hangar.
And I can’t know exactly how to feel
if the feeling isn’t real.
And I can’t know exactly where to be
if it isn’t there for me,
but I’ve got to find some peace of mind.
