Just To See You Happy
I don’t want to dominate you
‘cause I know you’d find
that, even if I try,
I’m not the dominating kind.
But don’t let that fool you, I still
love you and I still want you to love me.
And my love’s the kind of love that
would mean more if I could make you happy.
All I want is just to see you happy.
You’ve told me about the things that
people put you through.
I could never bring myself to
do those things to you.
You’ve been hurt too long and it’s time
someone changed your life. Why can’t it be me?
‘Cause there’s this thing that I have
about trying my best to make you happy.
All I want is just to see you happy.
I’m not asking what I’m missing
that they all had. That is not the
thing I want to know. The thing I
want to know is why am I
finding it so hard to get through
to you no matter what I say or
do? There’s got to be a way. I’ve
got to find a way to make you
understand that I don’t want to
own you or have you only one
night. That might be alright for
someone else who wants you each time he
calls you and he doesn’t always
call you ‘cause he couldn’t care if
you were happy, while that is the
thing I want. I want to see you happy.
