A Long Way From Home
She cries as she runs away.
She’s gone from home another day.
She’s gone, she’s a long way from home.
She smiles ‘cause she’s found a place.
She found a guy who likes her face.
She’s in, she can stay there with him.
Far away a voice is calling her back home,
“Come home, I miss you so!”
She can’t hear it, she’s no longer all alone.
How is he to know?
She thinks that she feels secure,
but in her mind she isn’t sure
it’s right – what will happen that night.
Far away a voice no longer calls her home.
Oh, where did he go?
Now she needs him, once again she’s all alone.
How was she to know?
She cries as she runs away.
She’s gone from home another day.
She’s gone, she’s a long way from home.
